Journal History

  1. This journal originated from the establishment of the Pencak Silat Research Center in 2022 under the leadership of Nurul Ihsan as a strategic step in developing research and scientific publications in the field of pencak silat.
  2. The inaugural issue of the International Martial Arts and Culture Journal (Volume 1, Issue 1) was published in June 2023, under the leadership of Mr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie as Editor-in-Chief.
  3. In July 2025, the International Martial Arts and Culture Journal initiated its preparation phase toward Scopus indexing.
